Dear All,
We're happy to share with you that Bengali Wikipedia has completed it's 10
year journey a few months back. To celebrate this historic milestone We the
poeple from Bengali Wikimedia Community and Wikimedia Bangladesh is going
to arrange a Gala event on February 26, 2015 at Radisson Blu Water Garden
Hotel in Dhaka. The event is supported by Grameenphone (It is a joint
venture between Telenor and Grameen Telecom Corporation), is the leading
telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh.
We are so happy that *Jimmy Wales* is going to join with us as a chief
guest. We are excited to have him with us and hope to share the program
details with you soon. BTW, This visit is the first visit of Jimbo in
Bangladesh.
Note: This event is a part of the series program, we'll arrange another two
days conference probably the last week of March.

শুভেচ্ছা। বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়ার ১০ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষ্যে ইতিমধ্যে সারা দেশের
বিভাগীয় শহরগুলোতে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে বিশেষ কর্মশালা। উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশের
উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত এসব আয়োজনে সহযোগিতা ও পৃষ্ঠপোষকতা করেছে গ্রামীণফোন। সব আয়োজন
শেষে এবার ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত হবে 'গালা ইভেন্ট'। *আগামী ২৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি ঢাকার
রেডিসন ব্লু হোটেলে দুপুর ১২টা থেকে ৪.৩০টা পর্যন্ত গালা ইভেন্ট অনুষ্ঠিত হবে*।
এ আয়োজনে প্রতি বিভাগীয় শহরের তিনজন করে সেরা অবদানকারীদের (কর্মশালায় অংশ
নিয়ে যারা বেশি অবদান রেখেছেন) পুরস্কৃত করা হবে। এছাড়া সাত বিভাগীয় শহরের ২১
জনের মধ্যে সেরা ৩জন পাবেন আলাদা পুরস্কার। পুরো এ আয়োজনে উপস্থিত থাকবেন

ক্যারোলিন স্লোয়েডার ও মোবাইল পার্টনারশিপ এশিয়ার স্মৃতি গুপ্ত।
এ আয়োজনটি মূলত উইকিপিডিয়ানদের জন্য। তবে স্থান এবং সামগ্রিক অবস্থার কারণে এ
আয়োজনে সবাইকে অংশ নেয়ার সুযোগ দেয়া যাবে না। আগ্রহীদের অংশগ্রহনের সুযোগ করে
দিতে বিশেষ একটি ফর্ম (http://goo.gl/forms/JxL7vX4Vpt) করা হয়েছে। আগামী ২৪
ফেব্রুয়ারি রাত ১০টার মধ্যে এ ফর্মটি পূরণ করে পাঠাতে হবে। নির্বাচিতদের ২৫
তারিখে অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহনের নিশ্চিতকরণ ই-মেইল পাঠানো হবে। নির্বাচিত ৬০ জন
শুধুমাত্র এ আয়োজনে অংশ নিতে পারবেন।
দেশের সামগ্রিক অবস্থা বিবেচনায় এবং অনুষ্ঠানের নানা বিষয়ের কারণে এ আয়োজনের
বিস্তারিত কমিউনিটির বাইরে শেয়ার করা হচ্ছে না। তাই বিষয়টি আমাদের উইকিপিডিয়া
কমিউনিটি ছাড়া অন্য কোথাও শেয়ার না করার অনুরোধ জানাচ্ছি।

that shows bn.zero.wikipedia.org. Would you mind uploading it to commons so
I can use in the public metrics presentation?
It looks like Grameenphone no longer features Wikipedia on the speed dial -
that's too bad. Or is Wikipedia listed under the "Free" button? We'll see
if we can get them to promote it again.

the Wikipedia Zero banner
2) Opera Mini showing the Wikipedia speed dial (if they still have us on
speed dial)
It can just be a photo of the phone, as long as we can see the bangla font.
Grameenphone is the only carrier that drives most pageviews in Bangla.
Generally we see pageviews on the English Wikipedia. We want to share the
story about how simple promotion can make a big difference.
One other question: are there other feature phone browsers (besides Opera
Mini) you can use to read Bangla?

On the recommendation of the Wikimania 2016 selection Jury Committee, we
have accepted the proposal from the Esino Lario Italy team. The
Wikimania Esino Lario team is composed mainly of volunteers. It is
promoted by Wikimedia Italia and Wikimedia CH in partnership with Esino
Lario city council, Ecomuseo delle Grigne, Pro Loco Esino Lario, Parco
Regionale della Grigna Settentionale and the Esino Lario local associations
and community. nThe proposal will be further vetted by the WMF staff in the
coming months, after which time we hope to confirm the award. Please join
