Dear all:
On behalf of WIkimedia Hong Kong, i am glad to inform all the Asian parties that our first Wikimedia Asia Meeting will be hold during APRICOT-APAN.asia/2011 http://apricot-apan.asia/.
I would like to clarified that, it is only an option we just explore the possibility of co-locate our meet up with the APRICOT and they say it is okay for them
so after all it is WE, all of us to decide to have such meet up OR NOT at this stage
APRICOT (Asia Pacific Regional Interent Conference on Operational Technologies) is Asia Pacific's premier internet annual summit. It aims to provide a forum for key Internet builders in the region to learn from their peers and other leaders in the the internet community from around the world.
The conference is on 21-25 Feb 2011 in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The meeting will be listed in the open agenda and every attendees can join. The meeting has been notified to WMFoundation, and Kul will be the one who follows the stuff of the meeting.
But at the first stage, we need to find out the aims of the meeting. Maybe you guys want start a Asia-wide project, then it will be the time for you guys to do it. The point is we just want to make the meeting more meaningful, rather than just meeting Asian fellows.
For the sponsorship and scholarship of the meeting, we will discuss it at the next stage.
