Hi there,
Besides our monthly unconference which we had in October, We at Wikimedians in Kansai participated a regional conference, Kansai Open Source 2010 (Nov 5-6, http://k-of.jp/2010/), the biggest Open Source focused event in our region, Kansai, Japan. As organizers, I'm eventually one of them, 2000 visitors attended this two day conf.
We organized two 50-min Wikimedia related seminars, hosted a booth and two members gave lightning talks. WMF staff developer Ryan Lane came to give talks, both slideshows are now available on wikitech.org.

While Both of the two above is in English, thanks to volunteering translators, User:Takot Takashi Ota and User:Ciphers. at every talk we could offer translated versions to the audience.
"Wikimedia Architecture", describing how Wikimedia servers are configrated, was given as keynote and attracted over 100 attendees. A major Japanese tech blog featured this talk and it seemed to be one of hot topics of the day in the Net.
"How to be a part of the MediaWiki developer community" was organized by WiKansai. 36 people came to this talk. It was so many that some of them had to stand without seat.
Ryan gave the same inviting talk to MediaWiki dev community in Tokyo, as a part of Mediawiki focusing conf, Wikimedia Conference Japan 2010 Tech Talk. Not obviously credited though, WiKansai got involved to organize this Tokyo event too, collaboratively with WCJ people in Tokyo who alone organize another day conf for focusing outreach to academia.
Also in both cities WiKansai worked well collaboratively with prominent Japanese geeks, including KOF organizers, board members of Japan Unix Society (http:jus.or.jp) and OpenOffice.org JA native lang project. Although the latter two kinds of people worked with us only in their individual capacities, not on their projects' behalf, we all enjoyed exchanging thoughts on free knowledge, community participation and tech in general.
The next big event we at WiKansai organize will be for WikiX celebration.
Cheers,
