Dear all,
The submission period of the 8th edition of Wiki Loves Earth *— *the biggest international photo contest devoted to nature heritage *— *has finished!
We are excited about the results: we have got 106 240 photos of nature monuments from 34 countries all over the world, and 23% of these pictures are used in wiki projects. Despite the world health situation, it's the 3rd biggest number of submissions in WLE history. We are thankful to everyone for digging through your photo archives and making impact online! Your pictures help to raise public awareness about protected areas and create the biggest database of free photos of them.
What's next? Local teams will announce their winners until the end of August, and then we start evaluating photos for the international round. In October-November you will discover who are the winners of WLE 2020.
Do you have any exciting WLE story to share? Please reach out to us at wle-team@wikimedia.org.ua and let's spread the word about the contest together!

hi all,
I need to check the number again, for example, the campaign script was wrong, and had finished 1 day before our deadline. ¹ I did not check if there are more countries in the same situation, and several people reported other issues with the uploader, and did not use the campaign to upload (the category that I used to batch and fix for now the numbers today), so the Brazil number may increase.
Just with this batch fix we have 108 185 photos.
--- Love from Brazil :*
