Dear all, this year Wikimedia Ch is planning to participate to Wiki Loves Earth's Contest.
The plan is to have it in May, but probably we will delay a little bit as done for Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 (aka Wiki4Alps). It may be middle of May.
I am asking some help to rush the organization to setup the start of contest.
Wikimedia CH has several years of experience with Wiki Loves Monuments, so we are ready as infrastructure.
The problem is to be aligned with the international contest.
So, I have some simple questions.
How to contact the organization team?
How to setup the subject?
WM CH would not suggest a list of parks (Wikimedia CH has only one National park) but would give a theme. It would be the Alpine landscape but the photos should have a specific compositions like the rule of third https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds.
It would be alpine region having more naturalistic subject respecting the rule of third.
Best regards
Hi Ilario, First of all, there will be an international contest this year, and we were planning to send all the details over the next few days. To contact the organisation team, you can write either here or to wle@wikimedia.org . Not everyone is subscribe to the latter address so far, but we will fix this within a few days. Concerning dates, our suggestion is to ask all countries to align within the period 1-31 May and submit their winners by 30 June. We can understand however that weather in Alps is not great in early May (that's what your Austrian colleagues told us as well), so we will accept if you change your dates into June provided you are able to submit your nominees no later than 15 July. You are free to set up the subject for the contest, provided it is within the scope (protected natural areas). If you have only one national park, you can add whatever is protected in your country - we would just prefer to avoid photos like "random-trees-near-unknown-lakes-somewhere-in-the-Alps". If you want to add additional constraints (like rule of thirds) - you are free to do enforce them. We will not mind if all ten winners from Switzerland will have a similar composition - it's up to you to decide. Please do not hesitate to ask me if you have further questions. Best regards, Mykola Kozlenko (NickK) WLE team & WMUA

Thank you for this information.
Yes, probably the best is to follow the Austria because we have a similar condition.
We can work in a list of natural parks (http://www.paerke.ch/en/schweizerpaerke/karte.php).
Is there a template to follow for this list like happens for WLM?
Regards

Hi, If you mean the template for creating lists, you should probably create a template of the similar structure as for WLM, and we will look how we can proceed these lists. We normally do not create templates in individual wikis (especially given that you have 4 of them), and we will find how we will generate the database (it is a work in progress at the moment). You should not just be limited to natural parks, you can use whatever is a protected natural site in Switzerland - actually anything listed at http://www.alparc.org/the-protected-areas should be fine. You have a 27-page list there ( http://www.alparc.org/the-protected-areas/discover-the-apa/item/download/678... ) that should be a good reference for the contest. Austria also included a register of protected trees (and one of them made it to the international top-15), so if you have any sites like that, you can also add them.
