In germany we are currently working hard getting at least a few Lists of Protected Areas in Germany in shape for WLE until May 1st, having an upload-link with campaign in the list. We will stuff all listentrys not only with a local id, but also with an international WDPA-ID. I created a WDPA-Template on commons, currently implemented here for testing
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Schmiechener_See.jpg (File) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Naturschutzgebiet_Schmiechener_S...) (click on the icon to the left to get to the wdpa-site)
I'd be happy about corrections and translations of the template.
Since WDPA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Database_on_Protected_Areas) seems to be the most complete list of protected areas this ID might help in the future to set up a generic, international WLE campaign instead of hosting several local campaigns for WLE. The WDPA-Data is far from beeing complete or completely accurate, but at least in europe there seems to be an almost complete 1:1-match of WDPA-IDs and Protected Areas, making WDPA a perfect source for a globally usable ID.

Sounds like a great idea! Good thinking!
