Hi all,
considering the short time, is it possible to know if the jury tool will be provided also this year?
Is it possible to have an access to become familiar with it?

Hi all,
I'm developing a new tool for graph of WLE and WLM in Tool Labs:
http://tools.wmflabs.org/wikiloves
The tool uses a module in Commons
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Module:WL_data> to know what countries
are in each event and the campaign period of each country. It is not
configured for WLE 2016 yet, I will make it in the next days (if someone
want to help, feel free to edit the module).
I had plans to make functions for voting on images and for show images
locations in map, but I didn't have time to develop these functions before
WLE 2016.
If someone have some questions, suggestions or bugs to report, please
contact me at IRC on channles #wikilovesearth, #wikilovesmonuments or
#wikipedia-pt-tecn, or create a task in phabricator
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/edit/form/1/?projects=tool…>
.

Dear All,
I'm pleased to announce that Thailand will continue to participate in both
WLE and WLM for 2016. The new chief-coordinator is Mr. Athikhun
Suwannakhan (athikhun.suw(a)student.mahidol.edu). I will gradually step down
and take more advisory roles in the years to come.
Please kindly:
1. Add Athikhun to the organiser mailing lists (and remove me if you wish).
2. Support our grant application at meta. (We will complete it in a few
days)
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:PEG/UG_TH/WLM_in_Thailand_2016
Thank you very much again for all your support in the past three years.

Hi all,
As on Commons CC-by-sa-4.0 is for some time the default license template
(instead of 3.0), all the UploadWizards of all the areas in Wiki Loves
Earth have now been updated.
If you have mentioned 3.0 in your documentation or website, please change
this now to 4.0. (However, I would not recommend the version at all.)
Greetings,
Romaine
Hi,
coming late, we will be joining WLE 2016.
Marios Magioladitis will be serving as coordinator for the rest of the
project but I am running now to complete some necessary things.
I have completed some things and need some help with others:
* Project page in Commons:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Earth_2016_in_Greece
* List of areas:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Earth_2016_in_Greece/…
* I guess I have translated all necessary templates for the Campaign page (
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Campaign:wle-gr) but someone needs to
enable it. (I note that code for Greece is GR, code for greek language is
EL). How do we do that?
* The upload wizard should have a field for the id of the area. We chose
Natura 2000 areas, so the id should populate the template {{natura 2000|*id*
}}
Hi all,
I call upon those countries that have Facebook and Twitter pages for local
contest make them especially active at the contest period.
Among those that are without activity in recent weeks are
https://www.facebook.com/WleAlgeria/https://www.facebook.com/Wiki-Loves-Earth-Austria-692832554101765https://www.facebook.com/WLENepalhttps://www.facebook.com/wle.moldova
You are also welcome to leave posts in English on Intl. contest page [1]
wall or in messages so admins could share them and bring new followers to
your page, if Facebook is not among your instruments for promotion, you
still can mail posts promoting your wikipages or sites to
wle-team(a)wikimedia.org.ua
For example, we could make tomorrow `numbers parade` on interwle
<https://www.facebook.com/interwle> which would tell about the number of
protected areas (total or just quantity of some kind of sites (parks,
gardens)) included in your lists. Let`s utter the scope of work for
participants :)

Dear all,
I have submitted a grant proposal on ScalaWiki data processing toolbox [1],
and I am expecting feedback from you, as most of my Wikimedia work relates
to supporting WLE/WLM projects, various article contests etc.
I think that we need some kind of a universal toolbox to define and execute
processing of Wikipedia related data, as getting the right data takes a lot
of time and efforts, requires specific skills. The process needs to be more
universal and relatively easier.
In a nutshell: there is a lot of data out there. And I think it needs to be
accessible for everyone,
we do not need to create specific tool every time there is a new question
or data to look for.
Thank you for your support.
