There are currently ~500 item-to-item links on WIkidata where the "target item" is a redirect.
Is there a bot resolving those? Should the merge API do that automatically? Or the merge script on site? Or Wikidata itself, after, say, a day of not reverting the merge?

I am not aware of a bot doing that yet. But I think there should be. We could probably do something in Wikibase itself but my gut feeling is that this is better handled by a bot. I don't think we can fix these immediately because there are cases where the merge is wrong for example. Comments?
Cheers Lydia
If Magnus meant "double redirect" (i.e. Q1 redirects to Q4, and Q4 redirects to Q13 / Q1=>Q4=>Q13), there is pywikibot/redirect.py [1] to fix double redirects, but apparently it does not work on Wikibase. (see T77971[2].)

I actually meant "single" redirects, but doubles are an issue too!
