Hello, It is good news that many new contributors are contributing in Tamil wikisource. But there are many doubts for both new and old wikisource contributors. It is felt that there is a need for a separate training for Tamil wikisource community exclusively. Now the CIS-A2K https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CIS-A2Khas come forward to conduct a training session providing all the logistic and financial support for the event for about 25 people. Long term contributor and experienced wikisourcer Mr. Jayanta Nath from Kolkata has expressed his consent for the training event. Now since it is a first of such kind training it is felt it would be good if we can organise it in Chennai. Tentatively training can be planned for 2 days on Feb 23, 24 or other weekends as the community decides. So we need to decide about the venue, participants list (only from Tamil nadu to be financially supported), date, schedule need to be finalised.
Kindly please give the inputs so we can take forward the event.

I suggest the event place as chennai, for Tamil contributors can attend easily.
if you fix dates and share here, we will announce on the tamil wikipedia, so that participants can register there and book tickets for travel.
Can participants get free stay,food along with the training or they have to arrange the stay,food on their own cost?

Hello, It is good news that many new contributors are contributing in Tamil wikisource. But there are many doubts for both new and old wikisource contributors. It is felt that there is a need for a separate training for Tamil wikisource community exclusively. Now the CIS-A2K https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CIS-A2Khas come forward to conduct a training session providing all the logistic and financial support for the event for about 25 people. Long term contributor and experienced wikisourcer Mr. Jayanta Nath from Kolkata has expressed his consent for the training event. Now since it is a first of such kind training it is felt it would be good if we can organise it in Chennai. Tentatively training can be planned for 2 days on Feb 23, 24 or other weekends as the community decides. So we need to decide about the venue, participants list (only from Tamil nadu to be financially supported), date, schedule need to be finalised.
Kindly please give the inputs so we can take forward the event.

We see a lot of traction for this Tamil Wikisource boot camp If the venue and date is finalized, we can send an online registration link e.g. sign up genius, evite or meetup.
This will help Balaji to manage the registration smoothly. We can also open the slots based on the venue size.

Can we fix the date for Tamil Wikisource Workshop? The general election in Tamil Nadu will be held on *April 18, 2019 *and result will be announce on 23rd May 2019. TTT will be held on 24-26 May 2019. So can we fix the date 1-2 June OR 8-9 June??

Hello, It is good news that many new contributors are contributing in Tamil wikisource. But there are many doubts for both new and old wikisource contributors. It is felt that there is a need for a separate training for Tamil wikisource community exclusively. Now the CIS-A2K https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CIS-A2Khas come forward to conduct a training session providing all the logistic and financial support for the event for about 25 people. Long term contributor and experienced wikisourcer Mr. Jayanta Nath https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Jayanta_(CIS-A2K) from Kolkata has expressed his consent for the training event. Now since it is a first of such kind training it is felt it would be good if we can organise it in Chennai/Salem. Tentatively training can be planned for 2 days on June 8, 9 or June 15, 16 or other weekends as the community decides. Regarding this a doodle polling is going on. Please indicate your preference through doodle here https://doodle.com/poll/uvn9wq8ibmmnbmpe. So we need to decide about the venue, participants list (only from Tamil nadu to be financially supported. other language wikisourcers can also apply), date, schedule need to be finalised.
