Adding on top of what said we are move to a world where we have an API that you can query to get article sections.
Then you can decided how you'd like to expose the collapse/expand functionality.
This is better for everyone as it allows you to choose wether you want buttons, arrows, etc.
You get to choose whats best for your project.

Hi All, I am using url like http://en.wikipedia.org//w/api.php?action=parse&format=json&page=New...
I am getting the full content of the mobile page without the buttons: History,Geography,Demographics etc... Is it possible to get the full mobile content with the section buttons? Thanks Asher Szmulewicz
On the contrary, we would like to get rid of those buttons completely to make this feature JS-only, and the only thing preventing us from it is backwards compatibility with earlier releases of the Wikipedia App. Adding an option to return these buttons with API would be unhelpful in achieving this goal.
