I need some help - I've implemented the API using CodeIgniter for a
clients site and everything works on the site except for the wiki pages,
which are sluggish.
Here is my controller which lists the function calls being made and in
what order:
http://pastebin.com/m4021c1a7
And here is my model where the actual API calls are made:
http://pastebin.com/dd7c504c
The api.php file exists on the same server that is making the calls, so
it should be instant but the pages are so very slow, and only in the
instance of using the MW API.
Any help or insight anybody could give would be MUCH appreciated.

Hi,
I'm doing some experimentation with a webapp and thought the online API
could be a good way to deliver documentation to the users. Not all of my
webapp is open-source though, so how does the GPL license of the original
source-code when you're using MediaWiki as a service?
Hello,
I am trying to figure out the ideal solution for enabling the generation of
a User's profile without actual Wiki editing. It is easier to add forms for
various categories but User seems like a special case. If I created a Person
category, I could do a template and semantic form and programmatically
generate content based on either an html form, a semantic form, a rich
client, or even by converting from an existing information in a different
format. I am not sure how to do so with a User. It does feel like an
overkill to go to a Person category when User exists, especially since I
will either have registered users as person entities or other special types
of persons like Authors (in which case I might as well have an Author
category).
Essentially I want to generate special content in case of registration right
in the User's page based on more questions that I'd ask them during
registration.
What would you recommend?

Hi,
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=backlinks&blredirect&bl…
that there are many articles that redirect to "Plural" when in fact
they redirect to other articles.
For example 'Companies' is the plural of 'Company' so the article
'Companies' naturally redirects to 'Company', but is also listed as a
redirect to 'Plural'.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Yishai
Hello,
I am newbie. I am looking at ways to access an image if I know its name. I
don't want to reach the Image:<image name> page but get the actual jpg.
Also, are there any standard image type conversion programs available so
that I can, for example, automatically save a gif when a jpg is uploaded?

Hallo,
ich bräuchte Hilfe, um einen alten query.php in einen neuen api.php Befehl
zu verwandeln:
$PageContent =
extractPageData("de.wikipedia.org","/w/query.php?what=content&titles={$destp
ath}|{$sourcepath}&format=php");
$entry = current($PageContent["pages"]);
function extractPageData($server, $page) {
// Hole Seite per GET-Request, entferne die Header und unserialisiere
die Daten zu einem gut behandelbaren Array
return unserialize(removeheaders(get_request($server, $page)));
}
Vielen Dank und schönen Weihnachten

Hi,
I'm new to the interwiki API, and need to post to another language's
wikipedia, though en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php (I use a bookmarklet
which use javascript that runs on en.wikipedia.api).
I am trying to generate a request, which contains action=edit along
with summary, token and the required post data.
If i wanted to post to, say the german wikipedia, I am not able to use
de:Article_Title to edit articles. I cannot access de.wikipedia.org,
while I can read german articles fine from en.wikipedia.org
Please suggest a way to use the API to post across the interwiki.
Thank you.

I am wondering how to search images sitewide?
Is it correct to use "search" generator? Something like this:
api.php?action=query&generator=search&gsrsearch=image_keyword&prop=imageinfo&iiprop=url
But I got pages contain "image" words instead image. What should I do
to search images.
Thanks.
