Know when an article was added to a category?

Hi, Is it possible to know using the MediaWiki API when an article was added to a given category? More specifically, I'm looking for the dates when featured articles where labeled as featured. If this turns out to be impossible via the API, how can this information be obtained otherwise? Thanks in advance for your comments, -- Sérgio Nunes

How does API work?

hello, Sorry to post a very basic question as I am new to API I couldnt get the overall idea of using API as I went through the mediawiki API. I still wonder how does it work in general? I have a xml file and want to export to wiki using api I want to use this API through a programming language VB I still wonder how would it be possible? and how do we display pages using api? Does anybody know how to create an anchor for the text to jump to a 'specific text ' after clciking on the link? Get a description about cities

Hello I have in my DB urls of wikipedia pages for many capital cities around the world (For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London) I would like to retrieve the short description of the city that all the cities have before the "Contents" table. I need it in plain text of HTML. I should I do it?
