Hi everyone,
The first conversation about structured licensing and copyright on
Commons for the Structured Data project [0] is available for
participation [1]. The purpose of the discussion is to help identify the
best way to build a model for copyright information and licenses on
Commons.
In this phase, we are discussing how we can approach licensing on
Commons in general. We can stay close to the current situation of
copyright templates on Commons; or we can rethink the way we treat
copyright and licenses so that we are compatible with other schemes and
systems used by other institutions; or maybe we want to have another
approach altogether.
More detailed discussions will come later this year.
If you have experience with copyright on Commons, and have ideas on how
we can positively impact work with GLAMs in this area, please provide
feedback! Your input is crucial :-)
