Which OL tool are you talking about? Do you have a link?
Sorry, should have included that ;-)
On any edition page, e.g.:
https://openlibrary.org/books/OL7183411M/The_adventures_of_Tom_Sawyer
down at the bottom right there are links to various citation formats.
Click on the Wikipedia Citation and you get:
{{Citation
|isbn = 0553211285
|publication-place = New York
|title = Adventures of Tom Sawyer
|url =
http://openlibrary.org/books/OL7183411M/The_adventures_of_Tom_Sawyer
|author = Mark Twain
|edition = The adventures of Tom Sawyer
|publication-date = 1920
|id = 0553211285
}}
I often remove the URL, which is to the OL page, not the book, and the
id, which is a duplicate of the ISBN. Oddly, the edition property,
above, doesn't seem to have caused me problems, but I now see that it is
a duplicate of the title. That has to do with the attempt to divide OL
into Works and Editions (kind of FRBR-ish, but also very similar to
BIBFRAME's Work and Instance).
