Hello Fabrice, in case you missed it, MZMcBride asked a question on https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54197#c4 (cc ee@).

Hi Nemo and MZ,
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.
We are now reviewing our options for AFT5 — and plan to resolve this issue shortly.
Our goal is to make a final decision about this product by the end of the year.
All the best,
Fabrice

Is https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Sondage/Outils_d%27%C3%A9valuation a factor in the decision?

The pilot on French Wikipedia ends at the end of this month and this pool linked by Nemo do not suggest a good future for the AFT on this project. :/

Yes indeed.
The french pilot results will be a major factor in that decision.
We’re now consulting key stakeholders and team members before writing up our recommendation.
Stay tuned.

We've been in the new year for 10 days now :) any news? Absent news/opposition, I assume the plan I linked will be executed.
Nemo
Hi Nemo,
Thanks for the reminder about AFT.
This is still on my to-do list, but I recently had to take a couple weeks off, due to some unfortunate personal and health issues.
So I am catching up on a big workload, and now focused on higher priority projects. But I will write the AFT report as soon as I come up for air in coming days — and have been corresponding with French community members about next steps.
I don’t believe waiting an extra week or two is causing any serious harm -- and I think you and MZ will be pleased with our recommendation.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
All the best,
Fabrice

Thank you Fabrice, sorry to hear about that; prompt rétablissement!

I realise some other emergencies/events took priority, but it's been three more weeks. Can we expect this to be the very next thing which will be resolved in this area (within a week I'd say)?

Why don't we just pick a date for un-deploying the extension? Fabrice has moved on to Multimedia and other work, and so has the lead developer on AFT5. I don't see this getting fixed immediately, though I could be wrong. It seems like the big surprise we don't want is for the feature to just disappear unannounced for those articles where editors have added it, but we can announce this adequately if we settle on a date.
Fabrice? Greg?

What happens when we undeploy AFT5? Specifically, the data that has been submitted? I couldn't find anything linked from https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Article_feedback/Version_5 (but I may have missed it).

if you mean the historical data already collected, we would archive the table and figure out later if we want to change how it’s exposed on labs.

Hi guys,
As discussed with Howie and other PMs, I am preparing a report with recommendations for next steps on AFT5 and will have it ready for review by the end of next week.
The French pilot just ended and I ran a quick RfC with the French community last week to get their suggestions. I am now compiling all the results from all the communities we discussed this with, and will include this in our recommendations. We will also consult with the core team that is impacted by this project, so everyone will have a chance to contribute to our final decision before we publish our report.
Thanks for your patience, and we will let you know when we have a resolution next week.
All the best,
Fabrice

Hi Nemo,
Thanks for your persistence.
We have just completed the last of our three pilots for the Article Feedback Tool (AFT5) on the French Wikipedia, and held a final RfC with their community a week ago.
Based on their response and overall pilot results, we recommend that Article Feedback be removed from all pilot sites by the end of the month. We propose to give editors two weeks to transfer any feedback they find useful to their article talk pages (with the ‘Discuss on talk page’ tool).
We will announce this recommendation to the English and French communities in the next couple days, with a final report and retrospective of lessons learned from this experiment.
Hope all is well with you. Thanks for your patience.
