Why don't we just pick a date for un-deploying the extension? Fabrice has moved on to Multimedia and other work, and so has the lead developer on AFT5. I don't see this getting fixed immediately, though I could be wrong. It seems like the big surprise we don't want is for the feature to just disappear unannounced for those articles where editors have added it, but we can announce this adequately if we settle on a date.
