Oscar,
with all due respect kindly avoid using those harsh words. I would really
like to emulate your point of view and esp. the part you say we demonstrate
maturity but I beg to differ with you esp when you use those insulting words
like keep your mouth shut,,,,,
I am sorry if this will not go well with you but No offence intended I beg
your pardon in advance Oscar.
I am afraid its time some of us get out of Wikimedia Kenya coz its so
painful to see such harsh exchange of words over a matter that can be solved
tru positive discussion

Guys,
I think we are/have demonstrated the highest level of immaturity on
this one.Just what do we think we have demonstrated t the world?lets
try to be civil and accommodating in our discussions.and above
all, lets make informed arguments and discussions .its very
embarrassing to see people talking trash about things and they have no
idea of.
Its well and wise to keep your mouth shut than open it to proove
otherwise to us and the rest of the world.
I personally was not opposed to Grace's idea of voting, just felt like
Alex put it,this is being immature and rushing things.plus,Grace,as
Abbas put it,Who did u intend to vote?the criteria of voting?and why
would people vote say for me yet they have no idea of my input and
participation in the KWC?that would be promoting populism which is not
good for a volunteer movement like us.we are not supposed to encourage
competition or populism, flexing our muscles to see wh has got the
bigger say or last word would just serve to scare potential and very
dedicated members like myself and others I wouldn't mention.lets
accommodate each others opinion and views and not exert our
muscles....
i must say I was quite unhappy with your total disregard to my
concerns and went ahead to carry/publish the poll without addressing
them or validating your course or atleast informing me and the group
of the whole idea of voting rather than another option.......

hi Alex, et al.,
I don't know the right way to do this, but to avoid a lot of unnecessary
debates over who should go and how we decide whose going; I think it's
best
if the participants themselves first discuss what
they want off-list. If
the participants are comfortable with discussing and deciding who should
go
-- well and good. If they can not decide, then
they can request for a
broader input from the mailing list.
I don't know how we will do it, but i am ready to discuss this with Oscar
&
Alex first (off-list).

with Grace overseeing the voting process or do you want the Kiswahili
Wikipedia Challenge participants to decide for themselves?
