Hi all - we've only had limited feedback on this idea (admittedly I never brought it up on-list - only at each project's discussion forum), but there will be an IRC meeting about Wikiversity research this Saturday (10th) @ 22:00 UTC in freenode channel #wikiversity. This is in advance of the board's meeting about Wikiversity (scheduled to take place the following Friday, 16th), and is a crucial aspect to Wikiversity's move out of its "beta phase".
Further details of the meeting are at: http://beta.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wikiversity:IRC_meeting_about_research. Links to relevant work-pages to be edited and discussed can be found there. For info on timezones, see: http://worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx and/or http://www.worldtimezone.com.
Hope to see you there - if you can't make it, and want to add something to the agenda, please do so at the page given above.
Cheers,
Cormac

Fantastic, Said!
There are a number of IRC platforms you can download - many of them free - your options for which will depend on what OS platform you use. Some info can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_Relay_Chat_clients and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat. If/when you get a client, you can generally find people (sometimes myself) in #wikiversity-en (though I'll try to remember to also join the #wikiversity channel whenever I'm online). Typing someone's name will usually get their attention - I'm sure you'll get the hang of it after a while.. :-)
See you then,
Cormac

Can you remind us early saturday? I got a bit of a bad memory.
I?m trying to get involved with wikiversity (as I've teaching math for years) but I've been jsut watching from the sidelines for a bit to understand it.

Ohhh ... I'm going to be sitting on a plane at that time. :( Please do post the highlights of the discussion somewhere so that I can look them over.
On another note, I'll try (depending upon how hectic my week is) to get the IRC applet up by Saturday. Hopefully that will help make it possible for more people to participate. No promises though!

That's a shame you can't make it, Daniel - but there'll be a log of this available so you can read it afterwards - and I'll try to summarise it too. In the meantime, you can always edit the proposed policy pages (or add comments on their talk pages) - and if you could get that applet gateway up and running that would be great. :-) No pressure though...
