We wanted to share this project with US affiliates, and with regional Wikimedians generally. The edit-a-thon is "live" for its launch Saturday starting at 12pm Eastern / 9am Pacific, and runs for two hours. However, it includes a monthlong campaign. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/MetAfrofuturist Though the art exhibition is in part about the specific African American history of New York City, it also ties into national and global art and culture of the African diaspora. As well as viewing the livestream, we'd also welcome people to join the Discord channel for this edit-a-thon on the Wikimedia NYC server all month long.
