I would like to propose that our next Wikimedia US / WALRUS meeting
will be Wednesday July 18, at 9pm Eastern Time / 6pm Pacific Time.
(Normally we would be scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month,
but I think it probably better to not conflict with Wikimania.)
The venue will be the #wikimedia-us channel on IRC, and if you're not
familiar with IRC, please just use this easy web client:
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=wikimedia-us
This is a venue for all Wiki-Americans to share our many diverse
experiences in local outreach and coordination, so please add your
ideas to the agenda:

Thanks,
Richard

To: Midwest Wikimedians <wikimedia-us-mw(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Hi y’all,
Just subscribed to this list (thanks for the nudge, Richard!). Also, I
wanted to make sure anyone within driving distance knows about the
Evansville Wiknic this weekend on the 30th. We’re meeting at West
Branch Library on the west side of Evansville. It’s located at
Franklin St (that’s the fall festival road) and Wabash Avenue of Flags
(that’s the one with the American flags all over the place). This is
right in the middle of historic Lamasco, so if you have a camera,
bring it along to take pictures for the Commons!
The event runs from noon (central daylight time – Evansville time) to 4 p.m.
See you there!

Hello everyone,
We'll be holding our monthly US Wikimedians' meeting next week on
Wednesday, June 13, at 9 PM EDT / 6 PM PDT. As usual, the meeting will
take place in the #wikimedia-us channel on IRC (
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=wikimedia-us).
If you have any items that should be discussed at this meeting, please add
them to the agenda (
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_United_States_Chapters_Council/Ju…),
ideally before the meeting begins.
I look forward to talking with everyone on Wednesday!
Cheers,
Kirill

The Wikimedia NYC Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday June 30,
2012 at Jefferson Market Library (425 Sixth Ave / Avenue of the
Americas) in Lower Manhattan.
Business will include the election of a nine-member chapter board of
directors for the nonprofit Wikimedia NYC Chapter.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC
We'll start the official meeting at the library from 1 pm to 4:30pm,
and afterward we'll walk to dinner at 5 pm, probably at the nearby
Sammy's Noodle.
You can officially 'sign up' at that page, declare yourself a
candidate for the board, and add your ideas and discussion topics to
the agenda!

I'm very pleased to announce two new developments at Wikimedia DC.
First, we'd like to welcome our first staff member, Lisa Marrs, who will be
assisting us as an Outreach & Program Coordination Intern over the next
several months. Lisa's duties will include coordinating our outreach
efforts and acting as a primary point of contact for cultural and
educational institutions; preparing our external communications, including
blog posts, press releases, and social media postings; and supporting the
organizing teams of Wikimania 2012 and Wiki Loves Monuments USA 2012.
Second, we've moved into our new office space, which is located at 1875 K
Street NW in Washington, DC. We'll be using this space through at least
the end of September; it will be both a work area for Lisa (and perhaps
another intern later in the summer) as well as a location for internal and
external meetings over the next few months. We're currently busy getting
settled in and setting up the office, and will be ready to welcome visitors
in late June; if you're interested in visiting us, please let us know, and
we'll arrange access for you.
As always, any comments or suggestions are very welcome. We look forward
to hosting everyone here in Washington for Wikimania next month!
Cheers,
Kirill
