Wikimedia NYC invites you to join us in the march to Reclaim Pride on
Sunday, June 30th. This is a people’s political march—no corporate floats,
and no police. It honors the powerful legacy of the Stonewall Rebellion by
highlighting the most marginalized members of the community, committing to
addressing the ongoing struggles that we face. Retracing the steps of the
original Christopher Street Liberation Day March of 1970, the Reclaim Pride
Coalition will gather in Sheridan Square at 9:30A, march all the way up 6th
Avenue, and end with a rally in Central Park's Great Lawn. Allies are more
than welcome!
**** Wikimedia NYC will join the March at Bryant Park, meeting at the
carousel on the south end of the park at 10:30AM. ****
We request that you RSVP so we can better coordinate that day. To do so,
simply sign-up via the Eventbrite at
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/reclaim-pride-march-with-wikimedia-nyc-tickets….
Please see the Reclaim Pride website (https://reclaimpridenyc.org/) for
more information about the march and what you can and cannot bring.
HAPPY PRIDE!
Hi Wiki-Yorkers,
Join us Sunday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 12:30-4:30pm, for our
Wiki Loves Pride 2019 edit-a-thon to create new and expand existing
Wikipedia articles on LGBT artists and artworks with LGBT themes in the Met
collection!
With refreshments, and a special museum tour in the afternoon!
And there will be a wiki-cake!
https://www.metmuseum.org/events/programs/met-celebrates/pride-wikipedia-ed…
Open to everyone at all levels of experience, wiki instructional workshop
and one-on-one support will be provided.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Wiki_Loves_Pride_2019
Please bring your own laptop to this event if you can, it's much better for
Wikipedia editing than mobile.
***Located in the Uris Center for Education, 81st Street entrance.***
This is the fifth annual Wiki Loves Pride edit-a-thon supported by
Wikimedia New York City :)
Thanks,
Richard
