I totally agree with you.
However, I will ask Brion to confirm the feasibility of assigning wikimedia.ca to a wiki hosted by the Foundation, if that makes sense and you are ready to assign the dns to that, and until the chapter can actually host their own wiki, which I STRONGLY recommend ;-)
