Hello,
I just discovered this cool Wikipedia meet up. I’ve started doing some editing on Wikipedia, but it is a little lonely and it would be great to meet other people in the Boston area who are also doing this. Especially the edit-a-thons.
I live in Roslindale and am looking forward to meeting new people.

Hello Rachele and the whole team--
I'm new to this place too, but I have a project underway that I'd love to have some input on. Do we have occasional meetings, or could we have one at some point? I'm willing to give a short presentation about this grant I got, and explain the project.
Perhaps a BPL room, or something like that? I don't know how you've met in the past. Open to any suggestions.
I could really use some advice on handling references/citations/bibliography sections.

Hi Mary, This looks like such a cool project. I'm at Mass Art and an art librarian. I might be able to help with citations / ref etc. Maybe we could do an edit-a-thon with our fibers department? Thank you for the idea, Gabrielle--I'd definitely be interested in pursuing that. I have not run an edit-a-thon myself, but I'd love to in the future with the lacemakers at our conferences.
If there was someone who could manage that organizational part of it, I could bring the project needs, and I could learn how to do edit-a-thons too.
I'm planning the public launch of my project to the lace community in January, after the holidays, so people will be finished with all that and looking for winter projects in the northern hemisphere.

Hi, Peyton. I have been a Wikipedian since I began doing it BOTH (a) at work AND (b) in my free time... and now belong to several projects.
I live nearby Brookline in Mission Hill, and that library could also be a good meeting place, as might the Parker Hill Branch of the BPL (in Mission Hill/Roxbury - on the #66 line and walking distance from #66 and #39 buses and the Green and Orange Lines). MassArt also could be a great place to start with a periodic meeting.
Now I work primarily on this project. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Veganism_and_Vegetariani...

Nice to meet you Rachele and all!
We have a loose group here in Boston and haven't been meeting regularly for a few years. Anyone is welcome to call a meetup or editathon and advertise it here. The fiber arts idea sounds cool!
Sam Klein and I (very nominally) lead the group, and we are very happy to see any activities anyone wants to do! I'm also a librarian :)
Cheers, Phoebe

Gosh--it looks like we have expertise, enthusiasm, interest, and opportunity. This has been the highlight of my week!
I would like to thank Rachele for getting this all rolling at what seems to be the right place, right time.
I will reach out to Gabrielle and see how to proceed.
Thank you all for your support and willingness to help.
And because it seems like I should mention it--I am the librarian for our local lace group. If you didn't know there were local lace groups, it's because the lace groups are largely not in Wikipedia yet (part of our problem). New England Lace Group (https://nelg.us/) is a chapter of the International Organization of Lace ( https://internationalorganizationoflace.org/). We need pages at least for the large national/international groups. The European version is OIDFA. https://www.oidfa.com/.
We are mildly jealous that the UK has a page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lace_Guild

Hi everyone!
I'm fairly new to the Boston area and found this list a couple of months ago. I'm a technical contributor to Wiki projects (since 2022) and I'd love to meet up with everyone and see how I can help out if something is being planned :)
Looking forward to it, Parthiv
