Hi everyone!
I'm fairly new to the Boston area and found this list a couple of months ago. I'm a technical contributor to Wiki projects (since 2022) and I'd love to meet up with everyone and see how I can help out if something is being planned :)
Looking forward to it,
Parthiv
Gosh--it looks like we have expertise, enthusiasm, interest, and opportunity. This has been the highlight of my week!I would like to thank Rachele for getting this all rolling at what seems to be the right place, right time.I will reach out to Gabrielle and see how to proceed.Thank you all for your support and willingness to help. And because it seems like I should mention it--I am the librarian for our local lace group. If you didn't know there were local lace groups, it's because the lace groups are largely not in Wikipedia yet (part of our problem). New England Lace Group (https://nelg.us/) is a chapter of the International Organization of Lace (https://internationalorganizationoflace.org/). We need pages at least for the large national/international groups. The European version is OIDFA. https://www.oidfa.com/.We are mildly jealous that the UK has a page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lace_Guild_______________________________________________On Mon, Dec 16, 2024 at 8:23 PM Samuel Klein <meta.sj@gmail.com> wrote:I adore lacework and would absolutely join a lace editathon :)On Mon, Dec 16, 2024 at 7:50 PM Victor Grigas <victorgrigas@gmail.com> wrote:_______________________________________________Go Rachele! Anyone is welcome to call a meetup or editathon and advertise it here. The fiber arts idea sounds cool!Sam Klein and I (very nominally) lead the group, and we are very happy to see any activities anyone wants to do! I'm also a librarian :)Cheers,PhoebeOn Mon, Dec 16, 2024, 09:14 Rachele Rosi-Kessel <rachele@rosi-kessel.org> wrote:Hello,I just discovered this cool Wikipedia meet up. I’ve started doing some editing on Wikipedia, but it is a little lonely and it would be great to meet other people in the Boston area who are also doing this. Especially the edit-a-thons.I live in Roslindale and am looking forward to meeting new people.Rachele (pronounced Racquel)_______________________________________________Best way to reach me in a hurry is texting.
