Dear NEW,
This year we have 13 candidates standing for election, and a new combined affiliate/community process. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022
1) In early July, affiliates vote to choose a short list of 6 candidates. (1 vote per affiliate) 2) in late August (15-29), the community will vote on that short list.
The candidates https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022/Candidates have provided initial statements. Phoebe & I will set up a way for you all to cast votes for the shortlist; based on that we will file a single collective vote for NEW.
The candidates will have a chance to say more about themselves on Meta; we will point to that and any other detail when returning to this thread in July.
Warmly, SJ
There will also be brief evaluations of the candidates, as information provided to voters; if you are interested in a bit of wiki-nomic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nomic, give a shout: we can appoint one person https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022/Affiliates_regional_distribution_for_the_Analysis_Committee/North_America#Procedure_for_determining_the_committee_member to help choose a candidate-evaluator.
