All, Please save the date for two edit-a-thons, on Friday October 21 and Friday October 28, on the MIT campus. * October 21st: images of science and technology -- learn how to work with Wikimedia Commons and bring your photos to upload. Hi all, Fancy a trip to sunny California this fall? Join us Oct 7-10 (Columbus Day Weekend) in San Diego, California for the 3rd annual WikiConference North America! Registration, scholarship applications and program submissions are all now open: https://wikiconference.org/ We'll be at the San Diego Public Library, an amazing venue full of soaring spaces and lots of room to collaborate on projects with other Wikimedians from the United States, Mexico, Canada and beyond. The John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage <https://www.brown.edu/academics/public-humanities/>(Brown University) has teamed up with WikiEd to look for a Wikipedia Visiting Scholar who specializes in Ethnic Studies. I figured I'd post this here because I know there might be people in the Boston area who may be interested / may know others who may be interested. I'm the primary contact at Brown for the position, so please feel free to email me if you have any questions! We'd like to have a Visiting Scholar in time for the fall semester. *Wikipedia Visiting Scholar (Brown University)* Brown University and the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage would like to work with an experienced Wikipedian to improve topics related to ethnic studies <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_studies>.
