Hi! The John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural
Heritage <https://www.brown.edu/academics/public-humanities/>(Brown
University) has teamed up with WikiEd to look for a Wikipedia Visiting
Scholar who specializes in Ethnic Studies. Full details on the position can
be found here
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Visiting_Scholars/Participating_institutions/Brown_University>,
and information about WikiEd's Visiting Scholars program can be found here
<http://wikiedu.org/visitingscholars/apply/>. I figured I'd post this here
because I know there might be people in the Boston area who may be
interested / may know others who may be interested. I'm the primary contact
at Brown for the position, so please feel free to email me if you have any
questions! We'd like to have a Visiting Scholar in time for the fall
semester.
*Wikipedia Visiting Scholar (Brown University)*
Brown University and the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities
and Cultural Heritage would like to work with an experienced Wikipedian to
improve topics related to ethnic studies
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_studies>. Examples include, but are
not limited to diaspora <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaspora>, migration
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_migration>, social movements
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_movement>, and/or political economies
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_economy> of social inequality
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_inequality> and racial formation
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_formation>. They would also be
interested in supporting the improvement of articles about literary and
historical figures important to understandings of Native American, Latinx,
and Asian-American cultural histories
