Hi Tanweer, I will reach out to Banglalink and see if we can get them to do
more promotions. Carriers launch and then move on, it happens all over. A
big priority for my group this year is to provide resources and motivate
our partners to support the movement.

Hi everyone, Grameenphone explained that they have some regulatory
requirement to set a timeline in the announcement, but they do intend to
extend the free access beyond three months. We are working with them to
expand it to m.wikipedia.org, all Wikimedia sites, and any browser, too.
I'll keep you posted.
We did get very good early results on the GP launch. They put Wikipedia on
the Opera Mini speed dial, and we're getting good page views. I'll share a
report when I get official numbers.
One other note while we're on the subject: if you have a GP phone with
Opera Mini, you'll see we tried a variation on the Wikipedia logo that has
"Zero" to set user expectations that it's not the full Wikipedia site.
We're debating that here. It's an interim thing, as we're working on better
solutions to have the full Wikipedia site available anyway. Just in case
anyone has a question or any thoughts on that -- let me know!
I hope the press coverage from Banglalink to the press event/meet up and
Grameenphone launch are helpful in raising awareness of Wikipedia and
interest in Wikimedia Bangladesh, to help you recruit more volunteers.
Munir and team have done an awesome job on PR.
Thanks so much
Carolynne
P.S. Shabab I didn't get the screenshots, can you please send to me at
cschloeder(a)wikimedia.org? Thanks!

Hi, folks.
I've had a chance to catch up with my colleague Carolynne, who has visited
Bangladesh recently, and was happy to hear you guys have been terrific in
helping her with outreach, press conferences, etc.
Thank you very much, and I'm excited to hear about the energy and capacity
demonstrated in these activities.
I look forward to hearing more about your plans. I encourage you not to
wait for the incorporation to go through before doing more off-wiki work.
Let me know if there's any way I can help!
Cheers,
Asaf

Hey guys,
Someone is suggesting on Jimbo's English talk page that Banglalink, the
provider of Wikipedia through mobile services in Bangladesh, has an
inappropriate relationship with Wikipedia by having their staff edit their
own Wikipedia article. See
<User_talk:Jimbo_Wales#Banglalink_and_WMF_--_COI_editors.3F>

I thought this list should know.
