description;
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Overview was
updated by Varnent but would benefit from a more understandable
description, too. (By the way, I've never followed this list because
since 2012 it never had a suitable name or description.)
The welcome message needs update, see below. I also don't understand why
such info is kept hidden in mailman configuration: it should be a wiki
page; if it is, it should be linked.
