This version of Wikilivres came original from the Dutch Wikisource, where WMF had to delete it: https://blog.wikimedia.org/2016/02/10/anne-frank-diary-removal/ Result of the disadvantage of having servers of Wikipedia/Wikisource in the US.
Yes, the original texts of the diary are PD.

Sympa, surely from Poland. But are the really unaware that the Dutch text is available online, from Canada? http://wikilivres.ca/wiki/Het_Achterhuis_(Anne_Frank)
They could have also spent some money on a new Polish translation, to be brought online in the public domain.

Hi Jan,
yes, this topic also had a lot of attention from Wikimedia Nederland before (Although I believe we're not involved with this particular project). I cc'd Sandra and Jos who are more involved with it.

Hi all
Today WIPO celebrates World Intellectual Property Day http://www.wipo.int/ip-outreach/en/ipday/ and I just wanted to bring to your attention a campaign by Communia, Kennisland, and Centrum Cyfrowe: the three organizations have been looking into the copyright status of Anne Frank's diary in Europe. It turns out that the original Dutch version is in the public domain in Poland -- but not in the Netherlands.
Find more info about the #readannediary campaign that calls for shorter, harmonized copyright terms here http://www.communia-association.org/2016/04/25/anne-frank-term-copyright-protection-time-move-harmonisation-unification/ .
Best, Jan
