Hello Wikimedians,
You are invited to the official launch of the fourth(4th) edition of the Africa
Wiki Challenge
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Africa_Wiki_Challenge_2024>. The
annual competition seeks to project information about Africa on Wikipedia
and its sister projects.
Over the past three years, the campaign has been organized under different
themes including, "*Landmarks in Africa, Projecting Africa Culture, and
African Free Continental Trade."*
This year's theme "*Educate Africa: Nurturing Minds for the 21st Century" *is
in line with the African Union(AU) Day's theme. The AU under the African
Union’s Agenda 2063 <https://au.int/en/agenda2063/overview> seeks to create
revitalized, high-quality, and unified educational systems that meet the
needs of Africa, generate acceptable attitudes, values, knowledge, and
skills, and support the continent's participation in the international
economy of knowledge.
The objective of this year’s Africa Wiki Challenge
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Africa_Wiki_Challenge_2024> is to
highlight and recognize the diverse educational perspectives in Africa,
encouraging the sharing of information and expertise through engaging
content contributions on Wikipedia.
Are you ready to contribute your quota in bridging the content gap on
Wikipedia?
