Hello Fellow Wikimedians,
We have successfully drawn the curtains on this year's Africa Wiki Challenge
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Africa_Wiki_Challenge_2022> and we need
your help in assessing the contest.
Did you participate as an editor, organizer or contributor? We would
appreciate your views on our performances right from the preparatory stages
to the final stages of the contest.
What were some of the challenges you faced as an organizer or a
participant?
Kindly complete the AWC Feedback Form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OVIEVw25fJLqrRjtA-yE77ivctOaq34hhJOA-h8V1Z…>
to help us improve on our subsequent contests.
Also, as part of the feedback form, we have also included some proposed
themes for you to vote on for the organizing of the third version of the
contest next year. We want to make you a part of the AWC franchise by
giving you the opportunity to vote on the next theme for the contest.
*JURY CALL UP*
We are also placing a call for members to participate and be a part of this
year’s AWC jury in the following languages: Arabic, Hausa, and French.
Interested African Wikimedians can send messages of interest via email to

Dear Community Members
The 2022 African Wikimedia Technical Community Hackathon which is a hybrid
event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July 2022
respectively.
We will be introducing the following contribution areas during the
hackathon: website, security, front-end, back-end, documentation and
translation. By participating in the hackathon, you have the opportunity to
work on issues that matter to you and advance your skills/experience while

This event is calling on volunteers who are interested in Wikimedia’s
technical areas such as code creators, maintainers, translators, technical
writers and other technical roles.
By this email, we are placing a call on volunteers who are willing to lead
and host sessions. These sessions can be under any Wikimedia technical
