Hello!
We have our next LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Call on Tuesday, August 10th at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 16:00 UTC / 6pm CEST (Time zone converterhttps://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20210810T160000&p1=tz_pt&p2=tz_et&p3=1440&p4=tz_cest). The possibilities for hosting Wikidata related edit-a-thons in library and digital humanities contexts are wide-ranging. We will learn about a few that have taken place:
* Boston Rock City Wikidata edit-a-thon on Boston music history with Christine Fernsebner Eslao, Metadata Management, Harvard Library and Dory Klein, Community History Librarian, Boston Public Library
* Wikidata and Comics Edit-a-thon with Kate Topham, Digital Humanities Archivist at Michigan State University
* Wiki-Relays, a concept where Wikidata items are created and edited to facilitate Wikipedia edit-a-thons with a focus on women in STEM with Liz Miraglia, Assistant Program Director & Head of Books & Serials, Metadata Services and Aislinn Sotelo, Program Director, Metadata Services
If you are interested in hosting your own Wikidata edit-a-thon or have hosted or participated in an edit-a-thon before, we hope you will join us for a lively discussion!
