Hello!
We have our next LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Call on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 17:00 UTC / 6pm CET (Time zone converterhttps://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1645549233). We will be having our first 2022 crossover with the LD4 Discovery Affinity Group! Huda Khan (Cornell University) and Astrid Usong (Stanford University) will be talking about the linked data integration work at Cornell University to bring author and subject knowledge panels into Cornell's library catalog (described herehttps://wiki.lyrasis.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=230818255), which emerged from explorations in the Linked Data for Production: Closing the Loop (LD4P3) grant. The knowledge panels use data from Wikidata, DBPedia, and the Library of Congress (LOC) linked data service. This overview of the work will focus on the data sources and on the conversations with stakeholders which led to the integration of these features into production.
The call details are below. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you aren't able to attend, the meetings are recorded and meeting notes are available on Google Drivehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JwTulCABs0TkGQDVSnYbIYEb7bC-j4-n. To receive notifications about upcoming calls and meeting notes you can subscribe to the ld4-wikidata Google Grouphttps://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ld4-wikidata.
The LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group is associated with the LD4 Community and investigates how libraries can contribute to and better integrate library metadata with Wikidata to improve access to library resources on the web. The Affinity Group calls provide an informal space to share information and learn more about Wikidata.
