):
Hello everyone,
The Council on Library and Information Resources <https://www.clir.org/> is
thrilled to announce that the 2023 DLF Forum Fellowship
<https://forum2023.diglib.org/fellowships/> application is now open. This
year we are offering a limited number of fellowship opportunities,
including our GLAM Cross-Pollinator Registration Awards
<https://www.diglib.org/opportunities/fellowships/glam-cross-pollinator-prog…>,
in order to welcome new, dynamic voices and valuable perspectives that will
enrich our events and larger community.
DLF Forum Fellowships will include:
- A complimentary room at the conference hotel for three nights
(November 12-14)
- A stipend for travel and incidentals ($650)
- Invitations to special networking opportunities
GLAM Cross-Pollinator and DLF Forum Fellowships will include the following:
- Complimentary DLF Forum registration
In return, Fellows agree to share a brief (500 word) reflection on their
experiences to be published on the DLF blog after the Forum.
Read more about each opportunity below and apply by completing this
application
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdqmw3jFmHhOd-aArclokYs4RJ6bZn7SMS…>.
Applicants will not receive more than one award but may apply for as many
awards as they are eligible.
We purposely keep our Fellowship applications lightweight, so applicants
only need to answer a few basic questions, provide a brief personal
statement (500 word max), and share a copy of your resume/C.V. or a link to
your online professional profile. If you have any questions about this
year's opportunities or application process, contact Team DLF at
awards(a)diglib.org.
*The deadline to apply is Friday, June 9, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time.*The
following awards are being offered in 2023:
*DLF Forum Fellowships (2)*About the Opportunity*: *The DLF community
includes many who work in libraries and other information and cultural
institutions who are lively, intellectually engaged, and inquisitive, but
who are not always routinely funded to travel to conferences where they can
learn more about the field, see digital initiatives from other
institutions, and meet leaders in the profession.
*Eligibility*
- This award is open to digital library, archives, museum, and arts &
cultural heritage students and professionals. We especially encourage
applications from individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People
of Color (BIPOC), individuals working at Historically Black Colleges and
Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and other
libraries, archives, museums, and organizations that center BIPOC to
promote inclusivity to the greatest extent possible.
- Self-identification options will be provided in the application
form but are not required.
- All are welcome to apply, including those who do not work or study at
a DLF member organization <https://www.diglib.org/about/members/>, but
preference will be given to applicants who have never received a prior
Forum Fellowship award.
*GLAM Cross-Pollinator Registration Awards*About the Opportunity*: *Museum
and library staff face similar challenges in the digital landscape and yet
have too few opportunities to come together. Through partnerships with
other GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) organizations, we
strive to bring new voices and perspectives to our Forum and to send
accomplished DLF practitioners to valuable conferences they might not
otherwise visit. In 2023, DLF continues its tradition of
"cross-pollination" with DLF community partners, offering complimentary
registration to a representative from each of our partner organizations:
ARLIS/NA <https://www.arlisna.org/> (Art Libraries Society of North
America), ASIS&T <https://www.asist.org/> (Association for Information
Science and Technology) and ER&L <https://electroniclibrarian.org/> (Electronic
Resources and Libraries).
*Please note that GLAM Cross-Pollinator Registration Awards provide only
DLF Forum Registration. Other costs must be covered by the attendee/their
employer.*Thanks to our partners at ARLIS/NA, ASIS&T, and ER&L for making
reciprocal registration awards available to DLF members in 2023!
*Eligibility Requirements*To be eligible for these registration awards, an
applicant must be a member in good standing of one of the three
organizations listed above.
*The deadline to apply is Friday, June 9, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time.*
*The DLF Forum Fellowship Committee, made up of community volunteers, will
make award decisions. Applicants will be notified of their status in
mid-July.*All the best,
Gayle and Team DLF

Hello GLAM Wiki community!
This email is to announce that the GLAM Wiki: The Culture, Heritage and
Wikimedia Conference will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay, in November
16-18, 2023. Save the dates!
Last week, the Wikimedia Foundation and the Conference Committee approved
our grant application [1] to host the conference in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The event will take place in the School of Information & Communications of
the University of the Republic [2], a beautiful building surrounded by a
public park within a walking distance from the "rambla", a walking path
next to the Río de La Plata River.
Our community has a lot of important topics to discuss in person, from
better supporting our tools for content partnerships with cultural heritage
institutions, to decolonizing knowledge, to more access to capacity
building and networking to grow the next generation of GLAM Wiki
collaborations.
To better engage with the community in the design of this event, we're
offering a launch event, taking place on April 13 at 5 PM UTC. We want to
learn from you! Please register on Meta [3] to receive the Zoom link. We
will be offering simultaneous interpretation in Spanish & Portuguese.
Want to get even more involved? Join our Scholarship or Program Committee.
[4]
Looking forward to seeing you all in beautiful Uruguay.
