One quick update on this I should share...
Due to an error in data analysis and how we were logging VisualEditor edits (this was the first time we did analytics on VE), we undercounted new editors who contributed via the "GettingStarted" onboarding process for June. I reported 1,208 accounts who made at least one edit via this interface, and it actually looks like it was more than double that. I'll be sharing more soon as we get precise data. So bad news is that my analysis was hasty, and good news is that the situation for the month was brighter than I first reported.
