Hey everyone,
Happy Valentine's Day. :) Today the Editor Engagement Experiments team deployed the following updates:
- We enabled PostEdit (the confirmation message after saving) to a few new wikis (the full list is at Extension:PostEdit on MediaWiki.org). - We enabled GuidedTour on some new wikis as well, including MediaWiki.org so that developers can test new tours they might build there. - We added some small design updates to GuidedTour, including removing the X button per discussions on this list and Bugzilla, and we also fixed the test tour in Monobook. - We also fixed the way we bucketed users in the A/B test of the "getting started" guided tour on English Wikipedia: previously those who manually went back to Special:GettingStarted had a chance to view the tour again if they picked another article. Now, people in the control group will never see the tour, and those who complete the tour or end it won't see it ever again.
If you have any questions, please don't be shy.

I forgot one other thing, naturally: for those of you who use the Schema namespace on Meta to define EventLogging data collection, we added a widget to the upper right of all schemas which tells you vital information about which revision is being used to validate data collection, and which PHP and JavaScript is referencing this schema. Give it a look-see at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Schema:AccountCreation or any other schema.

More broadly, if you visit Special:GettingStarted deliberately at any time (as opposed to being shown it automatically immediately after creation), you will not be sent on the tour.
This includes any user, established or new, who might choose to visit the page.
