It is a great blog post. I like that it explains why it is hard with some technical detail but in a way that curious non-experts could understand. I like that it contains a honest admission of current problems, while not making it sound like the people who wrote those parts made mistakes.
On Hacker News specifically, the oft repeated wisdom (that I've never seen a real citation for) is that if you drive people to HN with a direct link their upvotes are not counted. People who take their HN exposure seriously link to the new category and give the title to look for. Eg http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5104979
