Interestingly, it looks like, the news has percolated quite well among various Indian language communities :) Came across a news paper coverage in Tamil about the availability of Beta Features. See here [1]. It's all in Tamil but you will find the link to the Meta page at the end. It's rare for Indian language media to cover such technical aspects pertaining to Wikimedia. Was thrilled to see it :)
That's really cool. Unfortunately, the link to MediaWiki.org seems to be broken.
