wmf20 deployment update

Over the next few days, wmf20 will be deployed to WMF wikis. The highlights of what's new in wmf20 are: - "Recently active topics" is now the default sort order <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T108314> in Flow. - Searching the Topic namespace doesn't return any results, so it has been disabled <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T109211> to avoid confusion. - A number of editor-related bugs and regressions in Flow were fixed: - Clicking "Reply" on a nested reply no longer opens multiple editors <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T109748> - CAPTCHAs no longer appear as HTML <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T109554> and can actually be submitted - Clicking the "preview" link in the wikitext editor scrolled to the top <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T109664> - When switching between editors, the editor retains focus, and the cursor is put at the end <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T97290>, not at the beginning - Translations for the Topic namespace were added in Western Balochi and updated in Mazandarani. Special page aliases were added for Persian. wmf20 is being rolled out according to the standard deployment schedule: - Tuesday 11am-1pm PDT (yesterday): deployment to test wikis ("group 0"); for Flow, these are testwiki <https://test.wikipedia.org/>, test2wiki <https://test2.wikipedia.org/> and mediawiki.org <https://www.mediawiki.org/> - Wednesday 11am-1pm PDT (about 2 hours ago): deployment to non-Wikipedia wikis ("group 1"); for Flow, these are meta <https://meta.wikimedia.org/>, officewiki <https://office.wikimedia.org/> and wikidata <https://www.wikidata.org/> - Thursday 11am-1pm PDT (tomorrow): deployment to Wikipedias ("group 2"); for Flow, these are the English <https://en.wikipedia.org/>, French <https://fr.wikipedia.org/>, Hebrew <https://he.wikipedia.org/>, Portugese <https://pt.wikipedia.org/>, Catalan <https://ca.wikipedia.org/>, Telugu <https://te.wikipedia.org/>, Russian <https://ru.wikipedia.org/>, Punjabi <https://pa.wikipedia.org/> and Chinese <https://zh.wikipedia.org/> Wikipedias

wmf19 deployment update

I apologize for not having sent these emails in a while. I'll send catch-up ones for wmf15 through wmf18 later today. But first, today's branch: wmf19. Over the next few days, wmf19 will be deployed to WMF wikis. The highlights of what's new in wmf19 are: - You can now expand the single topic view <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T103584> to full width in Flow. - In Flow, posting a new topic, posting a new reply and editing a board's description now use the new, rewritten editor system <https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/220665/>. This should only cause minor changes in appearance and behavior, but there may be bugs. Editing existing topics and replies, and editing summaries, still use the old editor system; they will be migrated to the new system later. Excluding topics from being linked to Wikidata

There is a patch to exclude Flow Topics from being linked to Wikidata. I think this is fine (all talk namespaces are already excluded); just floating it in case I'm missing something (see https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/229197/). Matt

Standup update

Sorry for missing standup. My update is: * Figured out the InvalidDataException (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T108972), worked around that symptom for the board view (it should expire out of cache for the topic view), and put up and deployed a patch to prevent it happening again. * Finished the support desk conversion. :) Non-Flow stuff * Worked on and put up a patch supporting the change to one year login expiration for 'Keep me logged in' (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T109031 related to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T68699). * Merged Erik's patch to put BatchRowUpdate and friends in core. These are classes from Echo that we use all the time for maint scripts. Matt

Flow disabled on English and Japanese Wikiversities due to namespace conflicts

I emergency disabled Flow on the English and Japanese Wikiversities due to conflicts with their "Topic" namespace and Flow making those pages inaccessible. As far as I can tell, fawikibooks and dewikivoyage *also* have namespace name conflicts but those pages are not broken...I've left Flow enabled there for now.
