Dear all, Now that the Wikipedia & Education User Group has been officially approved and Wikimania is over, it's time to jump-start our activity
and
start working together again. Exciting, I know! :) To do that, we'd like have an online meeting, where we will share
updates
and will determine our next steps as a user group, the first of
which would
be to start an election process to choose a board for our user group. Here's a link to a doodle https://doodle.com/poll/zb5q8ph4zstv9u3b which will help us

Please vote on the best dates & times for you* by next Wednesday,

15 at midnight (whenever that is :)). *A final date will be
announced on
Thursday, August 16. Who is invited to participate in the meeting? Anyone who's doing work around Wikipedia & Education is invited, no matter where they are from, or from which group or chapter. As long

participants are polite, friendly and ready to work with others,
they are
welcome! Best, Shani.

Hello all!
In the last minutes of this first meeting, I proposed that we have a clearly specified list of functions, rights and responsibilities of the UG's Board and Board Members, which should help both the applicants and the voters. My motivation stems from lack of experience with management body in our user group, while the clear responsibility at least of an annual UG report in front of the WMF in the end of the year. I guess, having this written black on white can only be of help for everyone, at least in the beginning of the UG existence. While this is not a wiki, but a google doc, and while there is just a week to create it, I hope that as many people as possible will collaborate on this document -- especially those who plan to vote and get voted :D . Everyone with the link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ez5q_7FM1-Vb3WIa86gIy6LtflYX3Yq3UdmUR6i9... should be able to edit it. Also, for those who could not attend, notes were taken in the following Etherpad: https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/Education_UG_17Aug
Cheers, Vassia
