Dear Collab members,
I want to make you aware of the existence of the Wikipedia store
<https://store.wikimedia.org/>. You may know about the store already, but
what you may not know, is that you can ask the Education team to sponsor
gifts for volunteers. The Wikimedia Foundation can pay for those gifts (as
long as the request is reasonable, of course).
You can ask for gifts to thank and motivate cherished volunteers who work
hard to make the education program a success. You can also give out small
prizes to students in your education program to encourage them and give the
program a competitive element.
If you are interested in getting some swag from the store, please email
education(a)wikimedia.org with the specific request that you have and we will
work with you to get the swag to you!
Thanks!

Dear Collab members,
We are almost at the end of another quarter. And that means that we at the
Wikimedia Foundation will be doing our quarterly reporting. In the
quarterly report we will be talking about the Education Collab meeting. We
will also report on the activity in Phabricator.
*Please update any Phabricator tasks
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/education-collab/> assigned to you,
or ones that you are closely involved with, no later than the end of the
day (wherever you are) Monday, April 4th. *Please ask Tighe (in cc here) if
you have any questions about this.
Once again, it's been an honor working with all of you as part of the
Education Collaborative. You are an awesome group of humans. I hope you
continue moving forward with the Collab in the best way possible, and I
have total faith that you will.
Take care, all!

Dear Floor,
I am really grateful for your trust, your guidance and your vision during
this time. You are a remarkable example of a thoughtful leader who cares
and supports the growth of each member of the team and the team as a whole.
We will work hard to continue reinforcing the collab as an strategic place
to think about Wikipedia and education.
I wish you the best. Please keep in touch.
Paola
Dear Collab members,
I am sad to announce that I will be leaving the Wikimedia Foundation. March
31st will be my last day. After I leave, Tighe will take over the
leadership of the Education team. I have no doubt that the Wikipedia
Education Program will be moving forward in the best way possible with
Tighe leading it.
It has been two very educational, inspiring, awesome, intense and
exhausting years. I have loved working on building the Education team and
guiding it forward in a good direction, despite difficult times. It has
been wonderful getting to know all of you and to build the Collab together
with you.
You all know conditions within the WMF are difficult at the moment. We are
going through a transition that has been a long time coming. The months
(and maybe years) ahead will be difficult for us at the Wikimedia
Foundation and for the movement as a whole that is impacted by what the
Wikimedia Foundation does. I do not have the energy anymore to go through
that period with the right mindset and the can-do attitude that is needed.
It's time for someone else who does have that energy and optimism to move
the team and the Wikimedia Foundation forward.
I was so happy to be able to spend time with you all in Stockholm, and to
do that in a positive an appreciative atmosphere. It was the best goodbye I
could get (without you knowing this would be a goodbye), to see you all
doing so well and to see the Collab truly come together as a group. It was
a true joy. And for me personally, it has been one of the greatest
achievements in my role to have built the Collab together with you all. I
hope you will move the Collab forward together with all your amazing
experiences! And I know that together with Tighe and his leadership, you
will, and you will thrive.
I can be reached on my personal email address: floorkoudijs(a)gmail.com.
Take care, wonderful people.
Warmly,
Floor

Hi all,
Hope this finds you well. I was thinking of presenting a poster about the
Collab in Wikimania, but then I thought that we already have that very cool
infographic made in Stockholm, so why don't we use a digitalized copy of it
in Wikimania, if this is at all possible.
Best,
Reem

Dear Education Collab members,
Thank you so much to all of you who joined us in Stockholm, Sweden, for
your participation during the Collab meeting. It was great to see all of
you, and have your experience, ideas and energy together in one room to
work on topics that will benefit the global community. It was wonderful to
spend time with you and learn from your knowledge.
Tighe will follow up next week with more detailed next steps from all our
sessions. In the mean time, I have one question for you. We would love to
write a blog post about the Collab, focusing on the improvements we
implemented since last summer (as visually represented by the infographic
created by Sami
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Collab_2015_info_graphic.png>r),
and on the goals we set in Stockholm for the upcoming 18 months.
It would be great if we can find one or two volunteers from the Collab
group who are willing to take the lead on writing this blog post, and work
with Maria Cruz (in cc) who works on communications with us on the PC&L
team.
Any volunteers? :) Feel free to claim the Phabricator task I created for
this purpose here: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T129511
Thanks!
