Hi all,
We managed to reach out to several institutions in Mykolaiv Oblast (region) in Ukraine, university as well as authorities, so there is a hope for fruitful WEP (and GLAM) collaboration there. But it's only starting.
My colleagues asked me to write a draft post for Wikimedia Blog so here it is https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Blog/Drafts/Expansion_of_Wikipedia...
I would appreciate your feedback or any reflections on text, regarding its language as well as its contents and the ideas themselves.
Thank you, *--* *Vira Motorko* Wikimedia Ukraine https://ua.wikimedia.org/ +380667740499

Dear Vira,
Thank you so much for sharing your draft blog post with our Collab. Here are my highlights:
* It is an excellent summary of events with ample context and gorgeous photos. * I *love* that you used the WEP tagline "Wikipedia belongs in education" in the *first sentence* of your blog. I suspect that Floor Koudijs will love it more! * It's excellent that Wikimedia Ukraine understands that teachers must be involved with editing Wikipedia and that WMUA intends to provide the maximal possible training. * That this educational collaboration led to a municipal MoU is fantastic! We're going to need to add a summary to the government partnerships page [[ here https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Education/Government_Partnerships#Ukraine]] on Outreach wiki. Please feel free to start the draft!. * The Summer Wikischool idea is awesome! Can I come, please?? :)
For the record, I just want to say that I am so proud of Wikimedia Ukraine and their growing Wikipedia Education Program.
When the Wikimedians of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) gathered for their 4th annual meeting in Estonia in 2015 [1], I had a long heart-to-heart with Levon (User:Ліонкінг) about expanding the education program to this region. My heart is so happy to see this dream become a reality.
Truth be told, we (WMUA and I) have been talking about how to expand Ukraine's WEP since the 3rd CEE meeting in Ukraine [2]. This just goes to show that if we are patient and if we persevere, good things happen.
This news was a long time coming and a long time in the making. This, truly, is my best Christmas present of all.
Again, I am so proud of Wikimedia Ukraine and their growing Wikipedia Education Program.
Дякую, Віро. <3 Thank you, Vira. <3
Sincerely yours,
Anna

P.S. Because I also wish to share my positive feedback with your chapter's leadership, I redacted about a half a dozen emoticons from this message. I hope that the undercurrent of joy and pride and wikilove still permeates it nevertheless.

P.S. I forgot to thank Vira for mentioning the Education Program Extension for MediaWiki [1] in the post! The course page on Ukrainian Wikipedia [2] looks awesome. :)
