Subject: Re: [Wikimedia Kenya] Bylaws final draft
Hi Nice People,
Having gone through the by-laws i would like to suggest that;
* We edit the clause under membership that states that a non - member
denied the membership has right to appeal at next AGM. We could reduce
that down now that we are a young chapter and we would like to woo
members to WMKE.
We can consider changing the right to appeal to the next meeting rather than the next AGM.
However, I think that membership denial will be a rarity.
* What if the person over seeing the election is not
comfortable to
cast the tie breaker vote?I think we should hold a reelection
immediately. for instance, there was such a scenario at parliament
some time back and the speaker said they must hold the election
again... It would be fair that way.
Errrr, I don't totally agree with you in
that. Personally, if you tell me to vote again, I will still select the same person(s),
regardless of the re-election. you'd have to get support for me to change that clause.
At Wikimedia UK, the tie breaker is the one overseeing the elections. At Wikimedia
Australia, it's the Chairman who acts as the tie-breaker.
