.@ Chris , thanks for the detailed outline i wouldn't have done it better!
Ann & Steve ,that was a nice observation ,just like a rejoinder the
purposes of this seemingly strict time lines and procedures is not to make
life hell for the contestants or voters but to deliver a fair uncontested
election within the available time frame ,and create a level playing ground
for all contestants, for that reason feel free to raise your concerns ,i
also want to note that by including the Q & A thing we were guided by our
by laws,
I also want to observe that the issue of eligibility of voters has been
addressed ,in meetings ,by laws and the mailing list we are looking @ 4
main parameters ,WMKE projects, Physical meetups ,Discussion on the mailing
list,Edits with no prejudice to any ,if one has attended @ least two
meetups OR ,has participated in any WMKE projects, that includes & its not
limited to; Wikipedia for schools,Campus outreach programs,...., OR you
have participated in our discussions on the mailing list OR you have posted
more than a hundred edits please feel free to come and vote ! our
intention is not to lock away would be voters.
Steve lets discuss the logistic issues with Chris
& Cliff and get back to you before you head to Germany .
Regards!
Branton

Hello Folks,
I hope this finds you well.
As you all know, Alex and I shall be out of the country to attend the
chapter's meeting in Berlin wen the elections will be held.
To that end, I would like to advise the electoral team to furnish me and
WMKE on anything they might need from me as the
Interim Treasurer before the week ends so that I can leave things in order
while I will be away.
Nice job folks.
Regards,
Stephen.

Hello See My concerns embedded below the Email.
The team in charge of overlooking the election
process managed to meet
yesterday for the first time. The team is composed of Branton, Cliff and I,
and the meet-up was aimed at brainstorming on how the upcoming election
will be conducted and to plan for all the activities that will precede the
actual election. Generally, we aim at having a free and fair election
process that will also be educative and eventful. Hence, we call for all
members to kindly come out and support this activity in a positive manner.
The different activities that we agreed on and the dates we expect them to
be performed are stated below:
1. *Declaration of intention.* This serves as an official
announcement by a member to contest for the position of board member of
WMKE. This can be done on our official mailing list, as most of you have
done, and the last date for this activity will be on Wednesday, 21st March
2012 by 1159hours.
2. *Registration of contestants.* This will involve the
determination of whether an applicant is eligible to contest for the
position of a board member of WMKE as per the Chapter's Constitution or any
other rules agreed upon by the members. This is fully the responsibility of
the electoral team and the results are to be released on Saturday, 24th
March 2012 between noon and 1159hours.
"..between noon to 1159hours.." is negative one minute if my knowledge
of time serves me right [1]. Was it supposed to be noon to 2359H..or
1159hours to noon?
regards,
Stephen.
