A meet up would be good but do we have time? We need to submit names this
week. Anyway, again, here is my request for a vote.
I will not only represent the team well by presenting what we are about,
what we are doing, what we are planning on achieving... but I will also work
to make relations that will secure continuity of our projects. I will lobby
for support from other chapters, both monetary and moral. I will ensure each
connection possible is made.
While on the trip, I will also take advantage and take up an invitation to
Nokia in Finland and also present the project for schools. This will be a
great chance to get new support from Nokia who are also hard in creating
local content.
I hope you give me the chance, I will surely not embarrass you.
David.

Sure David,
I dint get the email too.
Abbas,I agree that the guys to represent us need not only to be good at
public speaking, but should have the correct facts and be versed with the
broader Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects.Rememmebre we will be dealing with
wiki Gurus and getting the wrong facts and statics would not only be
embarrassing but a pointer that we not serious.
On the same note,I would like Sam to send the Nominations to the list ASAP
and let the people decide who will represent them.
Guys, consider dedication, hardwork, commitement and Wikipedia and Wikimedia
conversancy in placing your vote, not favoritism. And the guys who would
represent us should know that they will be Wikimedia Kenya Board members and
as such, should be fully into it NOT just for the trip.
Lastly,I request you guys to VOTE for me if you are convinced I got what I
have just suggested and meet the (Un)chapter criteria.
Thanks guys and all the best,

Guys... Abbas sent this message and to me it
appears as though it didnt go
to the list... correct me if am wrong:
Alex,
Sam is overseeing the voting process and he'll soon release a read-only
nominations doc in which the voters will read what the nominees have written
before choosing their best candidates.
And, BTW, I think that another prerequisite that we should consider is the
nominee's ability to public-speak. This is b'coz the nominees that will be
chosen will make a presentation about what we have done so far in front of
other chapter members, the Foundation Staff, the Foundation Board & the
Chapters Committee followed by a Q&A. This is just to inform the nominees
what's at stake and what'll be expected of them once they go to the
Chapter's Meeting.
Regards
Abbas.

believe the nominations criteria has already been discussed on the mailing
list and the one thing that I would like to reiterate to all of you is your
commitment. Please don't nominate yourself if you will have an internship;
job; family issues; exams or blah blah blah. We do not want to select a
candidate that will let us down at the last minute.

30th January), we will all vote (on Doodle) for two candidates whom we feel
will represent us well at the event. I have choseen a short time schedule as
we need to send our confirmed representatives by next week.

voting process so someone else to make it transparent. Any non-nominees who
would want to oversee and count the votes are welcomed to contact me.
