Hi,
Now that the Mombasa pilot is complete and successful.
I could do the previsit now then the pilot would be done later.
I have found that these schools will be taking their first term exams
from next week then they will have a window period as they wait for
their teachers to mark the same, and I probably thought that this would
be an opportunity for us to do the pilot rather than wait for second
term which is quite far from now.
just me thoughts.
regards,
Stephen

Hi Steve. Thanks for arising this concern. The
last time we talked
about the Nyeri it was noted that Wangai Mwangi who was to lead the
team could not be available, and at that time we had no one else who
was familiar with the place. We then decided to substitute Nyeri with
Nairobi region....
It was not decided; rather it was suggested -- that's why
it is still left
hanging.
Anyway, if you (Steve) are available for the pre-visit to Nyeri, well and
good. My concern is that while some of us took a week off work or a week off
school inorder to go to Kakamega/Mombasa, I am not sure whether people will
manage to get another week off for the Nyeri pilot. So I don't think we'll
manage to get 6 people for Nyeri at the moment. Most of the Strathmore folks
would be free during May.
As regards substituting to Nairobi, I have no problem with that. If we get
unanimous agreement (and the 6 people as well), I would contact WMF and
notify them (and ask their permission?) that the grant would be redirected
to the Nairobi pilot, rather than the original plan for Nyeri.
