I don't know what inter-wiki transclusion is sorry.
I have seen the extension I describe in use on the Uni of British Columbia wiki. Ill get the name of it.
It is an extension that adds a link next to the edit link that is on every section of a page. When clicked, embed code is made available for copying. (Just like in youtube). Users take this code, and place it on their own websites, thereby displaying the content of the wiki, but on their own site. If the wiki is changed, so is the content on the user's site.
Doing stuff like <iframe src="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page?action=render" frameborder="0" width="600" height="400"> will work on generic mediawiki to embed a wik-page into another web page. (It won't do sections though)
