Hi all,
Our Wikipedia Takes Manhattan photo event (the first of its kind anywhere) was held on April 4, and we now have all photos online and illustrating articles.
We got photos for 92 specifically requested sites (90 separate articles), nearly half of the 188 on our list.
Check out these links: *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Takes_Manhattan (general report on the event) *http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wikipedia_Takes_Manhattan/Gallery (our cool gallery of all the photos taken)
Also, we have a report on our WikiNortheast blog at http://wikinortheast.blogspot.com/ (this is a regional blog geared toward fellow Wikimedians in the Northeast US; if anyone wants to contribute a guest post on something, pop me a personal e-mail)
Thanks, Pharos
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the update - really cool to see the pictures up. Keep up the good work, and of course, let me know when the next event goes down!
