Hi all,
I had a great time on Thursday evening - thank you all so much for the enjoyable welcome to Chicago.
The talk to the American Psychological Association went well this morning. I'm hopeful that WP:PSYCH can be re-invigorated - maybe with a formal collaboration with the APA. Sadly the recording didn't work for this talk. I've attached my slides anyway, and most of it is pretty understandable without my voiceover (some animations, so best to view in powerpoint). Maybe I'll re-record it at some point and stick it up on commons or youtube. I'll try again to record the next Sunday talk on WikiJournals!
All the best, Thomas

Hello all,
Poll consensus has indicated *Thursday, August 8, 6:00pm – 9:00pm* as the preferred time. We'll be meeting at that time in downtown Chicago at Plymouth Restaurant & Rooftop Bar https://goo.gl/maps/zYfAiHj3AKbqZ81x5. Food will be covered, tentatively up to $10 per attendee (up to $150 total); drinks will not be covered. Take a look at our meetup page on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Chicago_19 for a more detailed agenda, and to *sign up* (please sign up if you think you can make it)!
Feel free to drop by or head out at any time during the meetup! Looking forward to seeing some of you there.

Hello Chicago Wikimedians,
Wikimedian Thomas Shafee will be visiting from Australia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Airplaneman#Visiting_Chicago this August, and it's a great chance for us to plan a casual meetup. I've created a handy dandy doodle poll https://doodle.com/poll/qtt8wpcqmm54pdfk to gauge availability. Current time options are for the evenings on Thursday, August 8 and Saturday, August 10. The location will most likely be a restaurant in downtown Chicago. If you'd like to attend, please fill it out. I'll be in touch around next week with more concrete plans based on poll results.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in attending but isn't part of this listhost, please let them know they're invited! Please be in touch on here, our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1908906602738667/, or our meta page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedians_of_Chicago_User_Group if you have any questions or communications.
Looking forward to seeing you all in August!

Hello Thomas,
Thank you for taking the time to share your presentation and to meet with us.
I've looked through the presentation twice, I'm sure I'll review it again. It's very robust.
Question - am I free to use or share this presentation to further the cause? I ghostwrite for medical professions and associations. I suppose I assist them in non-specialist writing. I'm thinking about how to best position it so they will understand the power and the value.
I'm going to sit with the idea for a while. I thought I'd check with you first (and include the group in the conversation) before I took any action.
Thank you for the postcard from Australia! I have it right on my desk where I can see it and remind myself that there are people around the world who care about an important and common cause.
Best,
Alicia
